Meet Our Executive Director

Alcohol and drug addiction is called a family disease. Addiction negatively impacts the stability of the home, the family’s unity, mental health, physical health and social network. There is typically more divorce, domestic violence, child abuse, depression, anxiety, and general medical problems in families dealing with addiction. The facts of addiction and its destructive force on a family serve as the foundation for the work of the Addiction Care Center of Albany, Inc. it is the source of the ACCA mission statement, “healing the hearts of everyone touched by addiction.”

Throughout the ACCA continuum of care the needs of the family are foremost. We start in our grades K- 12 prevention programs where staff teaches youth the proactive skills and the knowledge to avoid drug and alcohol abuse and other risky behaviors. Family education programming extends prevention into the community. Youth and family counseling is offered through our extensive outpatient treatment program. Family therapy is an integral component in all ACCA treatment modalities and critical to the sustained recovery of both the individual client and their family. Soon to open is Vista House, ACCA’s new 22 bed Women and Children’s Transitional Living residence where women will prepare for the next phase of their life in recovery in a safe, healthy environment while keeping their families intact.

Our excellent staff receives continuing education in evidence based practices enabling them to deliver the highest level of care. The ACCA goal is simple: provide the gift of sustained recovery to the individuals and families we serve throughout Albany County and the Capital Region.

With warm regards,

Keith W. Stack
