GROW GIRL!©

GROW GIRL!© is a self-esteem building program that helps encourage, empower, and enable 10, 11, and 12 year old girls to become resilient. Research shows overwhelming and compelling evidence that early adolescence is a critical transition time during which girls experience unique challenges. Puberty often brings depression, risky experimentation, suicide attempts, eating disorders, and substance abuse into the lives of girls. Without comprehensive education, role modeling, alternatives as solutions, and mentoring, girls will not be able to develop into healthy adults.

GROW GIRL!© encompasses a wide range of health and self esteem issues. The erosion of self confidence, lack of motivation, lack of opportunity, and ability to set realistic goals which are hallmarks of adolescence are addressed with positive solutions. Critical thinking and questioning skills are developed so that healthy conclusions and choices will be made in relation to all decision making. By learning to nurture their inner core, girls become less likely to engage in risky behaviors and more able to build productive, healthy, and happy lives.
GROW GIRL!© targets at-risk populations by providing interactive lessons, guest speakers, incentives, positive messages, health information, and support that builds resilient girls. The positive messages and lessons target the following risky behaviors:

1.  Substance Abuse
