WHERE IS IT?
The course begins and ends at the Empire State Plaza on Madison Avenue and loops around the Empire State Plaza past the State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion.
WHAT IS IT?
The Freihofer’s Community Walk is a unique community event which enables ACCA to raise money and awareness by being part of the largest running event in the Capital Region (Freihofer’s Run for Women). There is no cost to participate and 100% of funds raised will go directly to ACCA!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
There are many ways you can participate in the walk:
1. Participate as a walker & fundraise—ask friends, co-workers, family members and businesses to sponsor you. Remember—100% of all pledges/donations go directly to ACCA!
2. Participate as a walker—register online and join ACCA’s team of walkers – everyone is encouraged to come and support ACCA by walking with our team!
3. Pledge a donation—If you are unable to walk, support someone who will be walking on behalf of ACCA!
4. Ask your friends, co-workers and family to join you for the walk. They too may gather pledges/donations that will directly benefit ACCA.
5. Spread the word—If you are on facebook, ask your friends & family to become fans of the ACCA facebook page. Post our event flyer in your community—your place of worship, gym, daycare facility—anywhere you go! Talk us up!!!
WHAT TO DO:
Ø REGISTER TO WALK
o Check-in begins at 11:30 am on June 5th at the Empire State Plaza Concourse. Parking is free at the East Garage (corner of Eagle St & Madison Ave). At check-in, you’ll turn in your pledge forms and corresponding donations – you’ll also receive a t-shirt and cookies!
o The 3K walk starts and ends at the Empire State Plaza and takes you on an entertaining stroll past historic buildings from the 1800’s.
Ø MAKE A PLEDGE – with someone you know who is walking or by contacting Francine Sinkoff at 465-5829 x15. Donations made by check should be payable to the Addictions Care Foundation and may be turned in at check-in the morning of the walk or given to Francine prior to the walk.
Ø CHALLENGE A FRIEND to join you and direct them to the above website to register.
