The
ACCA is a nonprofit corporation committed to community based alcoholism
and other chemical dependencies education, prevention, treatment, and
recovery activities in the Capital Region. Inspired almost 40 years
ago, our Council continues to search for new and innovative ways to
serve the community.
ACCA is
a private, nonprofit corporation, whose Board and staff are committed
to providing high quality, comprehensive treatment, housing, intervention
and education to those who suffer from alcoholism and other chemical
dependencies.
Distinct,
yet closely allied in providing a continuum of care and services, the
ACCA's programs serve all residents in the Capital District, irrespective
of color, age, sexual orientation, creed, criminal justice record, or
ability to pay. The ACCA programs provide crisis intervention and detox
services, clinical services, group counseling, short and long term housing
programs and prevention and training opportunities for all who suffer
from addictions and their families. All programs work to improve the
quality of life through treatment and education so that addicts and
their families will become healthy happy members of the community. The
ACCA staff and Board of Directors believe that providing compassionate,
successful treatment, housing, and educational modules for addicts and
their families will break the stigma that often prevents addicts from
receiving the help they need to recover. The Board of Directors is committed
to providing a supportive and professional work environment, for staff,
in conjunction with the highest standards of accountability. A strong
affiliation and belief in 12 Step Programs is part of the continuum
for care that is delivered in community-based services.
