~ Hal Marcus, MA, CASAC, MAC

The quote by Samuel Smiles (1875) "A Place for Everything and Everything
in its Place" is outlined in this training by helping participants
to get order in their personal and professional lives. Beginning with
the development of a plan, prioritizing the needs vs. the wants, and being
consistent with the follow-through are keys to success. We often complicate
the plan or start "multi-tasking," resulting in wasted time
and frustration. This presentation will help people to get organized and
utilize time constructively at home and work, as well as with their social/recreational
life (especially if they lack one). The concepts of Time Management, Conflict
Resolution, Important vs. Urgent, and Teamwork will be presented through
4 interactive exercises, including 2 self-administered surveys. Being
able to delegate, prioritize and relax are important in this fast-paced

all be addressed. Professionals of all backgrounds, and parents are best
suited for this training.

presentation will help you lead a life of richness in everyday events
and in the overall scheme of things. This training will show participants
how to explore areas in life where they may be stuck; identify personal
priorities; identify potential choices for improving their outlook or
situation; use decisional balance to weigh potential choices; develop
a plan for moving toward their choice
The Power of Now: How Not to be a Prisoner of Your Past,
Nor a Hostage to Your History ~ Anne E. Quinn, CASAC, MS
CASAC Sec 4 CPP/CPS Sec 3
What would you like to achieve in your life? This is about inner states--not
about the outer conditions of our lives. The foundation of spiritual life
is clarity of intention. Do I really want to be free here and now? Once
the intention is clear, the mind becomes focused. When the mind is focused,
there is one-pointedness. When there is one-pointedness, the heart will
guide you. This interactive workshop will focus on energy management.
By freeing up our energy, releasing what "could have been, should
have been," lost opportunities, broken promises, and unhealthy choices,
we can better use our energy to work for us now, with what we are doing
now, with what we want to create for ourselves, with making our dreams
into our reality.
Care of Self in a Difficult, 'Helping-Others' Career

taking care of themselves, and for those who need a refresher. This brief

you are and why you are in this helping profession.

Nature based counseling offers us the opportunity to utilize the beauty
and the miraculous in the natural world to access our feelings and to
help us to heal our wounds and to come to terms with our losses. By spending
time in the solitude and majesty of nature, we can deepen our awareness
of the Higher Power and begin to acknowledge the miraculous in ourselves.
Participants will explore the ways in which the natural world is a constant
source of support and strength to us in our daily lives. We will examine
Native American ways of working with nature to gain insight, wisdom and
answers to life's problems. We will learn about totem animals and the
medicine and messages certain animals carry complete with a guided imagery
that assists participants in discovering their own totem animals. Often
by stepping outside the constant noise and commotion of everyday life
and walking into the quiet of the eternal, we can renew our understanding
of those things that truly matter to us, the things that endure. Through
group activities and process, participants will learn new skills, which
can access clients non-verbally, using aspects of nature as metaphors
for our own lives. This workshop will culminate with an afternoon "vision
quest" where participants will learn the ways in which we can take
our life's questions out into the natural world to find answers. Nature
based counseling further assists the inner development and supports spiritual
awakening. Nature based counseling is a delight for people of all ages
and abilities. We will be meeting at Five Rivers Environmental Education
Center, located in Delmar, NY. Please bring a bag lunch! Directions can
