Cultural Diversity
Participants will gain awareness of the effects of cultural, racial and ethnic similarities and differences that may impact their work as prevention and treatment professionals. The course will address: methods for creating a safe environment for communication regarding culturally sensitive issues in the workplace; the definition and differentiation between the terms “culture”, “race” and “ethnicity”; the definitions of bias, prejudice and discrimination and other key terms related to the area of diversity.
