Integrating Tobacco Use Into Chemical Dependence Services
The workshop will provide a common core of knowledge about tobacco use and tobacco dependence. Participants will have the opportunity to explore personal and addiction treatment and recovery culture attitudes and beliefs about tobacco use and dependence, the history of treatment of tobacco dependence and the rationale for addressing tobacco use and dependence in addiction services. The workshop will also cover the diagnostic criteria of tobacco dependence and withdrawal, and the seven front-line medications for the treatment of tobacco dependence.

Bio:
Frank Pouliot, M.S., CASAC is the Professional Development Coordinator at Conifer Park in Glenville, New York. He has a Masters in Human Services Administration and is a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor (CASAC). He has 22 years experience directing clinical programs in the field of mental health and addiction services and over eight years experience as a professional development trainer and facilitator of on-line and classroom curriculums. He is an adjunct professor at Schenectady County Community College, the College of St Rose, Empire State College and the University of Phoenix. He is also a faculty member of the NYS OASAS Academy of Addiction Studies. Frank has two wonderful children pursuing their professional careers and he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
